Press Release Body: Waterloo, On November 5, 2007 - New LED Light Bulbs can now
replace virtually all of the existing lighting and LED Bulbs use approximately 10%
of the energy of the traditional incandescent bulbs, says Patrick Wey, Marketing
Director of LedKooLight. LEDs (light emitting diodes or solid state lighting) use
30% of the controversial CFLs (Compact Florescent Lamps) and LEDs lack the pollution
disposal problems.

Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs) are semiconductor chips that emit light when a current
is applied to them. They can produce nearly any spectrum of light from infra-red up
to ultra-violet. They have been used for many years in applications such as traffic
signals and status indicators and the technology now has reached a point in LED
development where they can be used for general illumination. White light LEDs
contain a phosphor coating which affects the color of blue light LEDs producing
brilliant white light. While LED technology has reached a milestone in its
development, the field is still progressing at a rapid rate and there is no denying
that LEDs will be the light source of the future.

In the last two years, the diodes have doubled in energy efficiency and brightness,
according to Greg Merritt, director of marketing for Durham, N.C.-based
LED-manufacturer Cree Inc. In particular, LEDs that produce a yellowish or \"warm\"
light similar to incandescents have improved immensely.

Most LED products are rated with a 50,000+ hour lifespan, compared to halogen lamps
which are only rated at 2,000 hours.

In an effort to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and energy consumption, California
and Canada have decided to ban the sale of incandescent bulbs by 2012. Australia is
banning them in 2010. The European Union is looking at banning production of the
bulbs. A U.S. Senate committee is working on a proposal that would phase out the
light bulb in 10 years.

LED lighting is stylish, environmentally friendly and saves money. It eliminate hot
halogens, mercury bearing fluorescents and fragile incandescents.
LEDs beat fluorescents for energy efficiency. For instance, Wal-Mart Stores Inc. is
putting LED lighting in its in-store refrigerators, where the fluorescents and
incandescents produce too much heat.

According to the U.S. Department of Energy, 22 percent of electricity used in the
U.S. powers lighting. In a world with soaring energy prices based on the
availability and control of fossil fuels, and with growing concern about
sustainability of the environment, a revolution in lighting is here.
